Drum Kit: Beat on Apple Watch
Percussion sound for drummer
Most music apps on a wearable feel unusable for one reason: latency. If the sound arrives after the tap, you cannot keep time with it.

What it does
- Ultra-low latency audio engine, so a tap sounds when you make it
- A realistic percussion set sized for the watch screen
- Useful for practising rhythm patterns away from a kit
- Runs without an iPhone
Do I need my iPhone?
Not while you are using it. This is a standalone watchOS app: it runs on the Apple Watch on its own, with the phone switched off or left behind. You do need an iPhone once, to purchase and install it — that is an App Store rule rather than anything about this app.
Questions
- Is the latency low enough to actually keep time?
- Yes - that was the hard engineering problem in this app, and the reason it exists.
- Do I need my iPhone?
- No.
- How many sounds are there?
- A standard kit selection, chosen to stay playable at watch size rather than to be exhaustive.
- Can I record what I play?
- No. It is a practice and sketching tool rather than a recorder.
You can also open Drum Kit: Beat on Apple Watch directly on the App Store .
