This site is run by me, Simone Saleri, as an independent freelance developer based in Italy. I am the data controller for anything collected here. You can reach me at info@simonesaleri.dev.
I have tried to write this in plain language rather than legal boilerplate. If anything is unclear, email me and I will explain it.
The short version
I collect two things: anonymous statistics about which pages people visit, and whatever you type into the contact form. I do not run ads, I do not build profiles, and I do not sell or share your data with anyone for marketing.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and which are not.
Analytics is off by default. Nothing is stored on your device and no analytics data is sent until you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you press Decline, or ignore the banner, Google Analytics stays disabled. This is implemented with Google Consent Mode, which starts in a denied state on every visit.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) that record a random identifier, the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you use. It also records when you click through to the App Store, so I can tell which articles actually help people find my apps.
Event-level analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically. Google acts as my data processor for this, under Google’s EU data processing terms.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw or grant consent at any time:
This clears your stored choice and brings the banner back so you can answer again.
The contact form
If you send me a message, I receive your name, your email address, and whatever you write. The form is delivered by Resend, which acts as my email processor, and the message lands in my inbox.
I use this only to reply to you and, if we end up working together, to carry on that conversation. I do not add you to a mailing list. Messages are kept as long as they are useful for our correspondence or for the ordinary record-keeping of my business.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like every web server, Vercel records technical request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent — for a short period in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. This happens regardless of your cookie choice, because it is how the web works rather than something I switch on.
What I do not do
- No advertising cookies, no remarketing, no ad networks.
- No cross-site or cross-device tracking. Google Signals is disabled.
- No selling or renting of personal data, ever.
- No automated decision-making or profiling that has any effect on you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, or object to its use. You can also ask for it in a portable format. Just email info@simonesaleri.dev — there is no form and no process, and I will get back to you.
If you think I have handled your data badly and I have not put it right, you can complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Changes
If I change how any of this works, I will update this page and change the date at the top.
