Metronome Pro for Apple Watch

Haptic track beat on the wrist

Get it on the App Store Apple Watch · $1.99

A clicking metronome fights the instrument you are trying to hear. Worse, in a rehearsal room you stop being able to hear it at all.

What it does

Do I need my iPhone?

Not while you are using it. This is a standalone watchOS app: it runs on the Apple Watch on its own, with the phone switched off or left behind. You do need an iPhone once, to purchase and install it — that is an App Store rule rather than anything about this app.

Questions

Why a haptic metronome rather than an audible one?
Because you can feel a beat while playing loudly, and because it does not bleed into a recording or distract anyone else in the room.
Do I need my iPhone?
No. It runs on the watch on its own.
Can I hear it as well as feel it?
Yes, audio and haptics can be used together if you prefer both.
Is the timing accurate enough for practice?
Yes. Haptic timing on the watch is stable enough for practice and rehearsal; for click-track recording, use your DAW.
