Tuning Fork for Watch

Tone pitch & reference tuner

Get it on the App Store Apple Watch · $1.99

Tuning by ear needs one thing: a reference pitch you trust. A physical tuning fork is the one piece of kit that never makes it into the bag.

What it does

Do I need my iPhone?

Not while you are using it. This is a standalone watchOS app: it runs on the Apple Watch on its own, with the phone switched off or left behind. You do need an iPhone once, to purchase and install it — that is an App Store rule rather than anything about this app.

Questions

What is a tuning fork app actually for?
Producing a known reference pitch so you can tune or pitch a voice against it by ear, rather than watching a needle.
Do I need my iPhone?
No.
Is this the same as a chromatic tuner?
No, and they solve opposite problems. This produces a pitch for you to match; Tuner Pro listens and tells you which note you played.
Can I use it with headphones?
Yes, which is worth doing in a noisy room.
